We filled up our Busy Bee puzzle AGAIN this
term! We all followed our treaty as a class extremely well to get all nine
puzzle pieces in only four weeks. We chose a dress up day/pyjama day and a
movie. Here we all are watching our movie together:

WALT: Persuasive Writing
WALT: Persuasive Writing
The Busy Bees dipped our toes into our first
ever persuasive writing this week. We saw on Quintessential’s blog (room 5)
that David had come to read them a story so we thought it would be really exciting
if he came to read to us too. We decided to write him a letter and try to
include reasons of why he should come to read to us. Here are a few samples of our work:
We were so thrilled when David came to read
us not only one but TWO books. He must have been super impressed with our
writing. Our favourite book was The
really sticky grubby lolly by Yvonne Marie Dudman. We liked it because it was hilarious and a wee bit
disgusting.
Thanks for coming to read to us David! We
look forward to you coming and checking out more of our learning next term J

Library Time at The Hub
WALT: Read independently
We love our library time! Visiting The Hub to
read and issue books helps us to become better readers. We also get new books
out for our class library to read after lunch and during our reading rotations.
Sometimes we are really lucky and Rebecca, our wonderful librarian reads to us.
Vanessa is very lucky to have a class full of such enthusiastic readers! She gets very excited when we use our reading strategies like getting our mouths ready for the first sound or looking at the picture to work out the tricky words we come across.

Discovery Time with Bright Bugs
WALT: Show
our Kotahitanga
During our discovery
time, we have been learning to show our kotahitanga. We made a Y chart together
to show what this would look like, sound like and feel like
Here we are
during discovery time. Do you think we did a good job of showing kotahitanga?
